Everyone comes to Cape Cod for the beaches, yet the crimson cranberry bogs, forests of birch and beech, freshwater ponds, and marshlands that grace the interior are just as splendid. Local history is fascinating; whale-watching provides an exhilarating experience of the natural world; cycling trails lace the landscape; shops purvey everything from antiques to pure kitsch; and you can dine on simple fresh seafood, creative contemporary cuisine, or most anything in between.
The beaches are the most popular destination for Cape lovers during the summer time. You can visit one beach per day and not repeat for 100 days. Red River Beach, is 1 mile down route 28 to the northwest and the third right onto Uncle Venies Rd. Raycroft Beach and Inman Road Beach in Dennis are both about 1 mile away
The Cape Cod Rail Trail is 22 mile paved rail trail used for biking, hiking, roller blading, and cross country skiing. Cape Cod Rail Trail serves up a genuine Cape Cod experience, stretching through quaint villages and along sandy beaches past a diverse landscape of salt marshes, pine forests, ponds and cranberry bogs. The trail is paved, with few inclines, and trailheads sprinkled along the route offer restrooms, food, water and swimming areas.

A magnificent 40-mile swath of the coast, more than 44,000 acres of coastline from Chatham to Provincetown, truly a national treasure. Within its borders are extraordinary ocean beaches, dramatic dunes, ancient swamps, salt marshes, and wetlands; pitch-pine and scrub-oak forest; much wildlife; and a number of historic structures open for touring.
It is a spectacular experience to see a school of feeding humpback, minke and finback whales. Out of many tour providers, one must is a whale watch on the Dolphin Fleet of Provincetown, a half-day adventure out to Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary to see the magnificent ritual of whales feeding in their natural habitat.
Herring run is a spectacular scene at cape cod, it happens at mid-April, if you are a naturalist and wildness activist, you don’t want to miss the opportunity to see schools of fish migrated to upstream, gulls hovering overhead, and ducks squawking at nearby brooks.
