About Laurieann Galer RN
As a Registered Nurse, Laurieann brings over 25 years of nursing experience encompassing Psychiatric Nursing and Triage at major Boston Hospitals. Her past Certification in the specialty of Psychiatric & Mental Health Nursing has benefited, her role as a Nurse Patient Advocate at Emerald Physicians on Cape Cod, as well as her role as a Nurse Geriatric Care Manager for her newly launched company ‘Cape Care Connection.’ As a Licensed Nurse Massage Therapist, and National Board Certified Licensed Massage Therapist, Laurieann has been an instructor at local massage schools and has developed a private practice for massage at her B&B.
She is also certified in Pregnancy Massage and is a Certified Infant Massage Educator, allowing her to travel and educate nurses regarding infant massage, including NICU nurses and massage for premature infants. She has participated as a Nurse Massage Therapist in Touch Research Institute’s (TRI) research study in Miami with Dr Tiffany Fields, regarding the effects of massage for pre-natal depression and premature newborn delivery.
She has advanced study in Oncology massage, Fibromyalgia Syndrome massage, and grief/pain with illness. Her past experience in Hospice nursing has benefited her role in Cancer Massage and in helping those in pain understand that massage is not just a luxury, it is another resource for promoting health and well being.
Currently, Laurieann balances being a Nurse Patient Advocate and Nurse Geriatric Care Manager while enjoying time spent with her daughters and dog ‘Snickers’ at her Bed & Breakfast on Cape Cod.
